Parking Permits

Student Parking Policy

Parking permit eligibility is determined by driver’s license issue date, and parking permits will be granted based on the following order of priority:

  1. Senior student driver with one to three other students registering for their carpool - all year
  2. Senior student driver with one to three other students registering for their carpool - second semester only (due to driver's eligibility)
  3. Senior student drivers not eligible to carpool by second semester-single student occupancy vehicle (SOV) all year
  4. Junior student drivers – based on driver’s license issue date (prior to January 9, 2023) and space availability.

Late Registration for Parking Permit

  • Seniors must have their driver’s license by the first day of school. Seniors obtaining their driver’s license after the first day of school may apply and obtain a parking permit if space is available.
  • Students who do not complete any of the three registration steps listed below on time, will lose their priority for selecting a parking space and may lose their space reservation. A $25 late registration fee may also apply.
  • Student parking permits may not be issued after the initial registration closes.

Temporary Parking Permits

Temporary parking permits are available for senior or junior students who do not have an assigned parking space and need to park on campus on a temporary basis. Students requesting a temporary parking permit must contact the Business Office at businessoffice@fsha.org or call 626-685-8574. In the event a student needs a temporary parking permit in the morning, a pass may be purchased from the campus safety officer on duty in the Lower Lot.

A first time pass will be issued for $10, second time $15 and third time is $20. Each occurrence after the third will be $20. The temporary pass shall be placed in the window and the student shall park in a visitor parking spot in the Lower Lot.

Students who park on campus without a temporary permit will be fined these same rates and given a detention for each occurrence. NO warnings will apply.

Neighborhood Parking

Neighborhood parking is strictly prohibited and will be monitored for compliance. Students who park in the neighborhood will be subject to fines as listed above and immediate detention. NO warnings will be given.

Student Parking and Carpool Permit Eligibility

  • Student parking applicants must submit a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle information to obtain a Flintridge Sacred Heart parking permit.
  • Students must be 18 years old or hold their licenses for 12 months to be eligible to carpool. See the DMV website for more information.
  • Students applying for a parking permit and legally eligible to carpool are required to carpool. Seniors are eligible to apply for a yearlong parking permit even if they are not eligible to carpool.
  • Juniors are eligible to apply for a yearlong parking permit if they have obtained their driver’s license by January 9, 2023.
  • Student drivers must carpool one to three other Flintridge Sacred Heart students. A maximum of four students are allowed in a car when the student is also the driver.
  • A parking permit will be assigned to the designated driver in a given carpool, who will be responsible for paying the parking fee (which may be then shared among the carpool participants).
  • The designated driver will receive a parking permit, which must be visibly displayed in her car at all times to avoid receiving a parking ticket. The carpool permit can be traded among the carpool riders as long as the other rider(s) is registered as an authorized driver.
