Residential Life - Fall News

Check out our exciting start to the school year!
On September 17th we celebrated our Mid Autumn Festival on the terrace with special performances by students ranging from reading poems, singing songs and even a dance. We ended the dinner with the eating of moon cakes, thanks to all the parents/guardians who donated moon cakes for this special dinner! We were also able to view the moon rise through telescopes. On September 24th we celebrated our July, August and September birthdays with a BBQ picnic on senior lawn followed by a water balloon fight and everyone jumping in the pool. On October 1st we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a learning how to make pico de gallo, guacamole, papel picado, and played Loteria.

This first month of school was also full of outings off the hill, exploring all of LA! We have been to Redondo Beach to go kayaking, Larchmont village to see an outdoor showing of the movie Chicago, eating delicious food at the Arcadia Mall, grocery shopping at 99 Ranch, going to the St. Francis football games and visiting Little Tokyo. We have also enjoyed some fun on-campus activities such as making clay ghosts, putting together bracelets for our TOLOGS Admission Day, playing Mario Kart on the switch, baking treats to say thank you to different groups on campus, putting together puzzles and watching movies together. The junior class also went on their grade level retreat in mid-September to Catalina Island. Please see the attached photos to see a bit of these activities in action!
